Caroline Fenstermacher

M.A./M.L.S. Student at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill

Hi, I’m Caroline!

I’m studying Art History and Library Science as a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

About Me

Before starting my Master’s program at Chapel Hill, I graduated from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI in May 2026 with a B.A. in Art History and a B.S. in Global Business & Economics. Inspired after working at the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center in my hometown of Kutztown, Pennsylvania, I wrote my undergraduate art history thesis on a late-eighteenth century Kleiderschrank (Clothes press) made and owned by Pennsylvania Germans in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

At the University of North Carolina, I am continuing my study of early American art and decorative arts.

Kleiderschrank (Clothes press), 1779. Walnut, yellow pine, and oak with sulfur inlay; iron, replacement brass, 6 ft. 10 1/4 in. x 6 ft. 6 in. x 27 1/2 in. (208.9 cm x 198.1 cm x 69.9 cm). Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 1957-30-1.
